They'll Need A Crane.

Kia Ora-

'Make a hole with a gun perpendicular/To the name of this town in a desk-top globe/Exit wound in a foreign nation/Showing the home of the one this was written for...'
-They Might Be Giants, Ana Ng, 1988

I've been totally obsessed lately with two songs--Ana Ng and They'll Need A Crane, both by They Might Be Giants. Mr. Eric let me borrow the Cowboy Bebop soundtrack this weekend and, since I didn't have a slip cover to keep the disc safe in, he also lent me one of his CD holders. The holder also had other CDs, among them being 3 TMBG discs. The songs are so catchy and the lyrics are so intelligent. How can you not love them? The song Ana Ng is nearly a perfect representation on my feelings for the places on the other side of the world (New Zealand, Japan, Hong Kong, etc.), while They'll Need A Crane is such a tragic song and nearly perfect just in it's being. Probably more on them soon.

This week is Spring Break at work and so things are a bit slow. But that's a mixed blessing. Still, as I don't have to be in until noon tomorrow, it ain't that bad. And I can get to the travel agent to pay for V and my cruise. It does seem a bit odd that we're planning to go out of the country right on the brink of war, but why not? Well, I can actually think of thousands of reasons why not, but oh well.

I think I have been misinterpreted and misintercepted, but that's alright. If it makes people happier this way, then so be it. And I know the truth.

Kirk's brother Chris (aka: Pee Wee) is going in for some serious surgery in about 6 hours. It's a very tricky procedure and they have to go to Ocala to have the operation. Risks are higher with what they intend to do and it's a fairly new concept (he'll be among the first), so I'd like to ask that everyone keep Pee Wee, Kirk's mom, Kirk & Karen, Pee Wee's wife, and the rest of the family in your thoughts and prayers.

That's all from here for now.

Keep the faith,

-N.
