2003-03-13//9:32 a.m. Kia Ora- -Michale Graves, Dig Up Her Bones, 1999 I think that the Reference Department is hiding books of mass destruction. If they don't let my inspectors in to find them, the Library Media Resources Department is going to declare war. About the impending war--why are us as Americans getting so up in arms about it? God, I mean this is the entertainment dream for our culture now. Think about it...it's the ultimate reality show! Fuck Survivor! Fuck American Idol! Fuck Fear Factor! This is the real thing! Ah...'Fred'. Dear me, the poor lad is much like the T-800 Model 101 android from the first Terminator film. The last time I was in his presence with friends he didn't speak one word to me. It was a very cold reception. His history with trying to thwart V and I in the early days is something I totally forgot about. He was very buddy-buddy with me and we would hang out, but it was all so I could get an inside track with V to forward his agenda. He tried to impress upon me that she and he were an item. The fact is that they just went to prom (or was it homecoming?) together their senior year, and it ended there, so I wouldn't even classify it as 'dating' (which implies plurality, but then again probably being in the same classroom by his definition is a 'date'). He got quite irate when V and I started seeing each other and went so far as to nearly (but not quite) threaten me, in not so many words. Whatever, duder. Perhaps it's something to do with the fact that the only CD he owned was Harry Belefonte's Greatest Hits--not dissing Harry, who I love, just the fact that it was the ONLY disc this 18-year-old guy had. I always thought that was a sign of imbalance straight away. Still, I honestly do feel sorry for him in the sense of this delusional stalking take precedence over any relationships he may have. He does have some serious issues in his relationship skills. ![]() And then, on the other hand, to 'Fred' I just say, 'Fuck 'em!' Keep the faith, -N.
