Kia Ora-

'You asked me what I was thinking/I was thinking of a padded cell/With a black and white TV to stop us from getting lonely...'
-Neil Finn, Mean To Me, 1985

Never promise that you'll keep updating your diary. Apparently, it's been a month since I've last posted. And what a month it's been...

Well, actually, the month has gone so fast that I can't really recall what has gone by and it literally seems like about a week since I last posted. Here are the highlights:

-Hell must have a severe cold front passing through because from the dead, the Ladies Of Death Row Swimsuit Calendar have risen and recorded again. All the brilliance is back. And it feels good.

-MBL has done two more shows since we last spoke as well. All the rust is blown off and we're a bit more at ease now. I still have disdain for certain elements (external this time, not from within the band), but fuck 'em--this is our ride and they can either dig it or not. Tim, Scott, and Mike are amazing, and I'm still not convinced that they need me.

-We made our reservations for November, for Veteran's Day. The same Bat-time and same Bat-channel. By then I'll certainly need it.

-Work. In a short sentence: Hooooooly fuck. Fuck it, next subject.

-Vanessa has been working out like a madwoman--Tae Kwan Do, 2 nights of bowling, regular working out, golf, rock climbing, kickboxing. She truly is Superwoman. I feel like a slob.

-I got a new tattoo. It encircles my '222', and is two angels praying (the symbol from the film Jesus Christ Superstar). It has had some healing issues, but I absolutely love it.

-Golf. Yes, golf. Vanessa, Kirk, Karen, Eric, and I have a new hobby. It's really zen.

-A close friend of mine, Beth, has moved from the area to the sticks (aka: Lake City). I hope she and her kids adjust well.

-My friend Yael had her baby last week. Congrats!

-Basically, my life has become work, MBL practice, LODRSsC recording, bowling leagues, golf--rinse and repeat. Pretty full in itself.

That's the Reader's Digest version of everything. I'm going to bed. I'm weary and drained, but I love you all.

Keep the faith.

-N.
