2003-10-02//4:36 p.m. Kia Ora- -Neil Finn, Locked Out, 1993 So I'm loudly playing Wagner's Gotterdammerung (specifically Sigfried's Funeral Music) as I unload and lock up my new G5. Yes, I am going Mac here at work. A G5 (I'm told it's real, real good), Final Cut Pro, and two flat screen monitors (a 20" and a 17"). I know piss all about Macs. But I'm going to learn. It's part of my new positioning here at work. More then editing, production side of things vs. actual library work. I am still unsure about things but we will see. I am doing a bunch more for what I actually went to school for (graphic design/commercial art) so maybe applying my degree is something that I can finally do. We'll see. I'm excited and trepidatious (is that a word?) at the same time. But unloading and locking up all those boxes was pretty cool. And Wagner seemed appropriate. No bowling tonight as Mr. Eric and Phil are in California enjoying an early October evening in the wonderful West Coast weather. Bastards. And John's artificial leg is broken. At least we will see the Hynes' this weekend for Howl-O-Scream. And maybe I can get a bit of sleep. Keep praying for Chris Osbourne (Kirk's brother). He's still having a rough time but he came through a very serious surgery (angioplasty where they had to install 2 stints in his heart). He's coherent again, and that's good. God bless you, Pee Wee. That's about it from here for now. Keep the faith. -N.
